Alsatian Model Bass Bow
H.R. Pfretzschner (stamped), Circa 1960

Model: Alsatian Style French Double Bass Bow  (Round Stick of European Cherry?)
Weight: 136 Grams
Length of Stick from Tip (not including Screw): 27 1/2 inches
Playing Length of Hair: 22 1/8 inches
Comments: This Bow is Stamped "H.R. Pfretzschner" but may very well be a copy. The typical Pfretzschner Emblem is also stamped into the oversized Ebony Frog.

This Bow appears to be old and has a taller Frog that the average French Bow. It can be held with a French/Italian Style grip or a modified German style grip with one finger instead of two inside the Frog.

Note: The Stick does not look like Pernambuco but rather looks more like European Cherry. The German style Tip of this Bow is actually capped with Rosewood instead of Ivory but may not be original.

French style Grip (Thumb on Stick) Italian style Grip (Thumb in Frog) Modified German style Grip
